Vale Ian Aylmer Campbell Bunsell

Ian was born to his father, Aylmer, in Boulder/Kalgoorlie WA, who entered the Commonwealth Public Service in 1936. Aylmer married Frances Agnes Roberts in 1938, with Ian born in 1940. In 1942 Aylmer joined the Army, serving in New Guinea and Bougainville. He was mentioned in Dispatches and received the Efficiency Decoration.

Ian attended Kew East Central School where he played cricket and football, participated in swimming and had hobbies of wildlife and birdwatching. At MHS he played trumpet in the Military Band, was elected Form Captain and S.R.C Rep 1955 and 1956. In 1956 he played in the Under 16 XVIII.

Following his father into the Commonwealth Public Service, after a time in the Department of Air, Ian joined the Department of Health. His role(s) spanned the supervision of the workflow of computer data to and from State Offices; code amendments to pricing files; reproduced programme flow-charts; arranged for and oversaw the staging of daily processing computer runs.

After resigning from the Public Service, he became a taxi operator before retiring. Married to Helen, he was the father of Jeffrey and Leanne.
