Vale – John Wysokier (Jack Wyse), L.D.S., B.D.Sc. (2 September 1918 – 16 January 2020).

MHS 1934-1936

John was born in German occupied Warsaw, of what had once been part of the Russian Empire, his family migrated to Melbourne in December 1929. Changing his first name from Icchok to John, he subsequently was known as Jack Wyse. A student at Princes Hill State School, John was a keen Soccer player, and was in the School Soccer Team in 1935 and 1936, winning Colours in 1936. Completing his Leaving Certificate, he studied Dentistry at Melbourne University. During WWII he joined the Army, serving in the 69 Dental Unit as a Captain. After the war he married Eda Kremer in 1946. Two of his nephews attended Melbourne High School, Leslie Paul Wysokier MHS 1963-1967 and David Maurice Wysokier MHS 1966-1970. Jack celebrated his Centenary in 2018.
