Reverend Jock Lugton Ryan, B.A.
21 November 1924 – 11 May 2020
MHS 1940

Jock transferred from Eltham Higher Elementary School to complete his Leaving Certificate.  He was noted as being the Saintly one in his form, which could explain his post war career.  He joined the Army in July 1942, serving in the 58/59 Battalion as a Private.  He was discharged in March 1943 to allow for his enlisting in the R.A.A.F., where he rose to Warrant Officer in the  14 Aircrew Holding Unit.

After the war he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree, and was ordained as a priest in the Church of England.  He spent time at Holy Trinity in Coburg 1950, Christ Church in Berwick October, 1951 – August, 1954, St. Jude’s in Carlton 1956 and Holy Trinity Doncaster 1959 – 1967.  He married Eleanor Jean Baddeley in 1951 and died aged 95.

Luke Savage, Honorary School Archivist.
