Raymond Horace Copley

On leaving school he became a wedding photographer on weekends and a journalist for a Sports paper during the week.  He left Australia when 18 with a typewriter and a second hand camera, three years later he had been to New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong Malaysia and Thailand, freelancing as a journalist.  He to London in 1956 and joined Reuters, travelling Western Europe in his spare time.  He returned to Australia in the 1960’s with his Soviet born wife, and in 1971 joined the A.B.C., retiring in 1996.
